Explorer
Our most popular and versatile canoes, the Explorer,
is the best all purpose design on the market. The beginner, intermediate
or advanced canoeist will appreciate the stability, maneuverability, and
high volume built into the shallow V hull. The Explorer is an easy paddling
canoe that is available in four different constructions: Royalex, fiberglass,
Kevlar and Lightweight Kevlar. Each material choice offers its own performance
characteristics. |
Freedom
The Royalex Freedom is a versatile tandem design offering
outstanding river-running performance. Inspired by the Explorer, the Freedom
has the generous cargo capacity necessary for whitewater trips along with
more rocker for increased maneuverability and dryness important to river
paddlers. The seats are also positioned closer to the center than in the
Explorer. This lively canoe is fun to paddle in whitewater, yet shows surprising
speed in flat water. (Specifications) |
The Freedom's above-waterline flare keeps paddlers dry
in large rapids, and the shallow V hull offers exceptional secondary stability.
4" of rocker is designed into the ends of the canoe, allowing paddlers
to maneuver on a dime. The bow entry is purposefully narrow for quiet paddling
and quick acceleration. |
The canoe widens quickly just aft of its sleek bow for
incredible buoyancy in waves. 3" of rocker allows for quick maneuverability,
even when the canoe is heavily loaded. The Revelation is at its best in
whitewater, heavy winds, chop or strong following seas, conditions where
other boats turn tentative. |
Revelation
For the family seeking a comfortable recreational craft
as well as for the demanding wilderness tripper, the Revelation is an outstanding
choice. Designed for stability and speed, it maneuvers easily and carries
a large payload of kids or gear. The most stable of our Versatile Series
canoes, the roomy Revelation responds well to sudden weight shifts caused
by dogs, kids, wind, or waves. (Specifications) |
Destiny
Combine the security and roominess of a Revelation with
the light weight and speed of a composite-hulled cruiser, and you've got
the Destiny. This comfortable family cruiser features a classic shallow
V hull. Sharper ends make the Destiny a highly efficient craft to paddle.
With flare just behind the bow and ahead of the stern, passengers and gear
stay dry on broad lakes and salt-water bays. (Specifications) |
The sharper ends require a trim boat, so a sliding bow
seat is standard equipment on the Destiny, the fastest canoe in the Versatile
Series. Available in three composite hull constructions and two gunwale
systems. |
The hull has a softened V in the center and carries its
slightly rockered keel until 2.5-3' from the stems where the ends rocker
quickly to 5.4". The Guide has the maneuverability necessary for river
running and the hull speed required for crossing lakes. Available in both
Royalex and Kevlar® brand fiber versions. |
Guide
Flatwater cruising, wilderness tripping and whitewater
play — they all demand different and seemingly incompatible performance
characteristics, but Jim Henry has given the Royalex Guide the ability
to do it all. It travels fast, and accommodates paddlers of all sizes.
Paddlers will appreciate the nice balances of initial and secondary stability
in this performance solo boat on whitewater rivers or large exposed lakes.
