An interpretation of the Malecite design in rugged Royalex® construction. This canoe is ideal for day cruising or touring when you are concerned about bumps and bruises to your canoe. Slightly shorter and more rockered than the composite Malecite for easy handling and increased maneuverability—attributes that make it shine in moving water while still providing excellent flatwater efficiency. Available with wood or aluminum gunwales.

Our most versatile “big” canoe. Once described as the “Volvo™ station wagon of canoes,” the Revelation is a river-tripping loadmaster with good tracking, especially loaded. Versatile, durable and surprisingly maneuverable, this is the canoe when capacity is needed and conditions require maneuvering and a dry ride.

The most versatile solo performance canoe produced, and perhaps the perfect solo river-running boat for day trips or expeditions. Durable Royalex® construction tolerates the extremes of running loaded through rapids and returning at the end of the day to surf a hole. Tumblehome makes efficient solo paddling easy, and the round v hull delivers excellent quickness, secondary stability, and maneuvering. Available with wood or vinyl gunwales.

Our best canoe for combining solo and tandem paddling. For an afternoon on the lake or 2-3 days of light touring, this is the road bike of canoeing—fast, efficient, sleek, and sexy. Rock-solid secondary stability, a flared dry hull, and amazing composure in chop and waves make it an outstanding lake canoe. Paddled solo, the Malecite is a great touring canoe with huge capacity.

The strength and durability of all-cloth Kevlar® construction. Ideal for solo trips or expeditions that feature occasional sections of moving water, or for the paddler who demands an outstanding combination of strength, light weight, and classic design. Available with wood or aluminum gunwales.

The same high performance and beautiful paddling, in the affordable, stiffer lay-up—a flatwater thoroughbred. Available with wood or aluminum gunwales.

Kevlar® Lite

A beautiful paddling boat, incredibly lightweight and stiff, perfect for deep flatwater and strenuous portages. Available with wood or aluminum gunwales.

Mad River Canoe was launched with the introduction of the Malecite in 1971. In honor of our 30th Anniversary, we’re producing a Special Edition Malecite executed in modern materials and a unique blending of select woods. Featuring a stiffer hybrid Carbon/Kevlar hull (not available with any other Mad River canoe) and special detailing, including gunwales with a horizontal walnut inlay running the length, walnut decks, three custom cane seats with walnut accents, a sculpted yoke in the CarriYoke configuration, 30th Anniversary logo and custom white gel coat. Available with wood gunwales.

An unsung hero of our line with speed, stability (especially when loaded), and maneuverability. This manageable 17’ foot canoe is large enough to comfortably accommodate a camping family with performance that helps you get to the site before sunset. Slight rocker makes this more maneuverable than many 17s and flare keeps the canoe dry.

Kevlar® Expedition

Cloth Kevlar® construction provides the best strength and durability, ideal for families or mixed water tripping. In this construction, the Destiny makes a very capable river touring canoe. Available with wood gunwales.

Kevlar® Lite

Lightweight, lots of load capacity, suited to deepwater paddles separated by punishing portages. A comfortable and manageable lake touring canoe. Available with aluminum gunwales.

Outstanding seaworthiness, loaded or unloaded, and renowned for it's ability to keep going in the worst conditions quickly and comfortably, thanks to its modest Shallow-V hull. Superb for camping and ambitious expeditions. A great boat for larger families.

Kevlar® Expedition

The Kevlar® Expedition construction for this canoe is a hybrid of Kevlar® cloth and Airex foam. This canoe and construction have been running expeditions and downriver races for more than 15 years, and they make an exceptionally stiff, strong, resilient team. Ideal for river and mixed water expeditions and touring.

The ultralight Airex™ construction is ideal for deepwater paddling and portages.
