Explorer

:: Next Series

The choice of beginning and seasoned paddlers alike. Its full, high-volume, shallow-V hull makes it stable, secure, and spacious. Moderate rocker means it’s plenty maneuverable for moving water but well mannered enough for good glide and tracking on flatwater. Paddle it solo or tandem, loaded or light, all afternoon with the family on a languid lake or all week in the wilderness with no one at all.

Royalex®

Our most versatile canoe and our most popular. Royalex® is rugged enough for whitewater and 10-year-olds. Slightly shorter with a tad more rocker than the composite versions, it’s more maneuverable. Royalex® flexes slightly when the canoe is in the water, giving more stability and the ability to ease over rocks. Available with wood or vinyl gunwales.

Kevlar® Expedition

Our flagship expedition canoe. All-cloth Kevlar® Expedition construction combines our toughest lay-up and fine entry and exit lines for better hull speed than the Royalex® version. The gel coat outer skin is beautiful and abrasion resistant, but requires more care than Royalex® in high-abrasion or multiple impact situations. The result is our high-end workhorse—versatile, strong, and lightweight. Available with wood or aluminum gunwales.

K-Glass

Our most affordable composite canoe. K-Glass is slightly stiffer than KE, producing a composite canoe that is equally versatile but less expensive and a bit heavier. Available with wood or aluminum gunwales.

Kevlar® Lite

Our highest performance Explorer, made with our lightest lay-up. This lightweight composite canoe is ideal for deep-water paddlers looking for the versatility of the Explorer shape. The stiff foam core makes the hull more efficient for better speed. Available with wood or aluminum gunwales.
