Wood
Trim:
As practical as it is beautiful Northern White Ash, known for its strength and distinctive appearance, is the material of choice for our wood trimmed boats. We mill all our own wood, cutting clear, quality stock cleanly with the grain. This preserves the elongated grain structure and allows the wood to absorb the stress of the flexing hull over the full length of the canoe. By integrating gunwale and seat frame, rigidity is increased for more efficient paddling. Our distinctive ash framed cane seats are durable and lightweight. Cool, comfortable and quick drying.
Aluminum
Gunwale System: Our aluminum gunwale system, finished in black, weighs
less and requires less maintenance than our traditional ash trim. For greater
durability, our surface finish is powder coated rather than anodized. This
system weighs 50% less than our vinyl gunwale system. Available on our
Royalex Lightweight models- Eclipse,
Quest
and Tahoe.
Vinyl
Gunwale System: This maintenance free trim package provides an ultra
strong alternative to ash woodwork, adding just two pounds to the canoe's
weight. Tough yet attractive if was formulated for cold weather strength
and is available on selected Royalex models intended for mixed whitewater
and flatwater use. Black vinyl raiIs are reinforced with 6063-T6 aluminum
inserts. Rotomolded decks completely enclose the canoe ends, merging with
the precision engineered vinyl rails.
