Mad River Canoes: Liberty
Mad River Canoes: Liberty photo
The shallow V entry combines with rocker for easy turning. Above-waterline flare in the ends allows Liberty to handle a variety of water conditions. The Liberty is easy to paddle with or without gear and is lightweight for portaging and cartopping. The KL version offers increased durability for wilderness travel. Slotted rails are standard.

Liberty

The Liberty is an agile and graceful solo touring canoe, our companion design to the larger Independence, but sized for paddlers under 150 lbs. The Liberty was developed to enable the smaller paddler to easily keep pace with the larger paddler's Independence. Seaworthy and strong, it offers performance and strength required for solo trips into the wilderness, yet loves to play around home.
